Unique flavor from Kars (Organic)
This cheese is a true rarity and comes from the northeastern Anatolian province of Kars, famous for its alpine highlands and rich flora. The cows grazing on these meadows produce exceptionally aromatic organic milk, which forms the basis of this hard cheese.
Full-bodied & aged (Eski Kaşar)
Unlike young Kaşar cheese (“Taze Kaşar”), this “Eski Kaşar” is aged for several months. During this maturation, it develops its intense, strong, and slightly piquant flavor as well as a firm, sometimes slightly crumbly texture. It is the Turkish equivalent of a fine Swiss mountain cheese or Parmesan.
Serving recommendation
This cheese is far too special to use only for gratins. Enjoy it best on its own:
- As the star of a premium cheese platter (Peynir Tabağı).
- For a traditional Turkish breakfast (Kahvaltı).
- As a companion to a glass of full-bodied red wine.
- Thinly shaved over pasta or salad dishes.
